 In a report on rising bankruptcies, KPIX Channel 5 interviewed Ike for a story on January 13, 2011. Ike explained the role of job loss and the difficulty of getting mortgage relief. Prestigious Appointment. In July 2004, Ike Shulman was selected by the bankruptcy judges of the Northern District of California to serve a four-year term on the Northern District Bankruptcy Court's Bench Bar Liaison Committee. Ike was further honored in 2006 to serve as chair of that committee, leading the Committee's activities in working with all of the Northern District bankruptcy judges to improve the Court's administrative procedures. The Northern District of California includes all of the Bay Area and the Northern Part of California.

In the fall of 2005, on the eve of implementation of the new bankruptcy law, Ike Shulman was selected to be on the faculty of two major bankruptcy seminars that trained over 3000 attorneys on the new law. In the seminars Ike served as the moderator of the two sections that focused on Chapter 13 issues. He has also served as a panelist and faculty member at National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Association (NACBA) seminars in 2006, 2007 and 2008 on the changes to the bankruptcy laws.
